Being Strong in Forgiveness

The Great Mystery Greenkill Conference Center Armstrong, Joe 06/27/2019 06/27/2019

This teaching looks at the great importance of forgiving ourselves and forgiving other people. There’s more to forgiveness than just you because it affects the whole Body of Christ. Peter is given as an example of forgiving ourselves. Peter made some serious mistakes in his life, but that did not prevent him from receiving holy spirit or performing miracles. He did not let his mistakes, recent or not, hold him back from helping people. Even though we are not perfect, we still have holy spirit and are worthy of receiving revelation. Then, Joseph is given as an example of forgiving other people. Joseph was treated extremely unfairly by his own family, yet he knew that God could make it right. We forgive and expect that God is bigger than that person in your life. We don’t have the right to seek retribution, only God does. If we want to be around people, we will have to forgive a lot. We cannot expect people to be perfect. We do not wrestle against people because the cause of evil in this world is the Adversary. Everyone in life makes mistakes, and we have to get over it because people still need us. People are going to make big mistakes towards you, but you still need them. Love sees more, but it also sees less.

Forgiveness, The One Body

Our Love for Each Other

Love Greenkill Conference Center Armstrong, Joe 06/27/2019 06/27/2019

This teaching is all about how we are supposed to love each other with God’s unconditional love. It is very important to God that we love the person next to us. Our response to God’s love for us is to love Him and each other. To accomplish this, we cannot be afraid of people or what they may think of us. To God, we are treasure on this earth. All the wonderful things God can bring to a person’s life are in us because it is God in Christ in us. We can reconcile people back to God, and we have answers to what people need in this life. We need to put other people above ourselves and be concerned about them. Take time with people, talk to people, and listen to them and God. Think about all the things we could do to help them, what we can say to build them up, and how we can minister grace with our words. We can be a breath of fresh air because we love people and can help people come home to God. Love is what keeps us together.

The Example of a Believer

Lifestyle of a Believer Love Greenkill Conference Center Armstrong, Joe 04/27/2019 04/27/2019

This teaching is about being an example of a believer and being a kind person. A believer is someone who trusts God and His promises. A believer can say in the worst of situations “be of good cheer” because they trust in God and not in men. Believers have joy, stay calm, and can even sleep through storms. Our God can do wonderful things. Believers expect God to take care of them and know that He can turn a situation around. We don’t live our lives filled with fear because we have confidence in God. Our examples as believers affect other people and can help them to not be afraid. People can know how kind God is when you show forth kindness. We want to be loving and kind in our actions as God is loving and kind.

The Sound Mind

Renewed Mind Mountain Top Inn and Resort Armstrong, Joe 11/04/2018 11/04/2018

A sound mind is one that admonishes itself. In this teaching, we cover how to maintain a sound mind as mentioned in 2 Timothy 1:7. The teacher emphasizes the importance of thinking what God’s Word says in order to maintain a healthy mind throughout your life. We look specifically at Colossians 3 for examples of thinking patterns that a sound mind follows such as forgiving people, loving people, letting God’s peace rule in your mind, and remembering what you are thankful for.
