This teaching shows us the significance of the great Mystery. The rules and things in the Old Testament pointed to the Mystery; they were not just arbitrary rules. We learn that not only do we have a great hope ahead of us, but we are also spared from the wrath to come. We also learn that our righteousness no longer comes from works, but instead it comes from believing. However, we also see that as soon as 40 years after the Day of Pentecost all of Asia is turned away from Paul, and the Mystery once again becomes hidden. We are reminded that the Church is the display of the great purpose of the ages and to live the Mystery!
